What is Adipotide?
Preclinical / animal onlya.k.a. FTPP, Prohibitin-Targeting Peptide-1A lab-made molecule designed to cut off the blood supply fat tissue needs, so fat cells die off. It caused weight loss in monkeys but also stressed their kidneys, which halted development.
Good to know: Animal studies identified reversible kidney toxicity (elevated creatinine) at effective doses, which halted further clinical development, and it has no established human safety profile.

A two-part peptide combining a prohibitin-binding homing sequence with a proapoptotic sequence that triggers programmed cell death specifically in the blood vessels supplying white adipose tissue, cutting off fat tissue's blood supply.
